Rawls Springs Utility District (Hattiesburg) is seeking applications for a full-time Potable Water/Wastewater Consultant.
Job Summary: This individual maintains water treatment, wastewater collection, potable water storage, and distribution systems in working order compliant with utility district policies, local, state, and federal regulations; performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled technical tasks, monitors plant operations, collects samples, reviews reports, and results of analysis, makes adjustments to treatment and/or operations, evaluates data and issues reports and notices as required; must communicate courteously and respectfully with customers, co-workers and others. Must be available to work after hours to respond to emergencies and rotating on-call for nights/weekends. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: This individual must have at least a high school diploma or GED; must possess or obtain within 180 days of employment a Class C Water Treatment Certification and Class II Wastewater Treatment Certification; must be in good physical condition, able to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions at a literacy level necessary to accomplish work duties; must satisfactorily pass a drug/alcohol screening and criminal records background check; must possess a valid driver’s license.
Salary is based on education, training, and experience.

Class D/up – Waterworks Operator with Class II Wastewater needed at Glendale Utility District
Open Position for Class D or better Waterworks Operator with Class II Wastewater at Glendale Utility District in Hattiesburg, MS. Operator needs to have 3-5 years experience and live within 50 mile radius of the water system.
Operator needs to be able to be on call 24 hrs a day. Operator also needs to be able to repair water lines,
leaks, install meters, overall day to day maintenance of water lines. Also Operator needs to be over all the inventory of tools, parts and equipment and order as needed. Needs to know all the responsibilities of an Operator and follow all MSDH and MDEQ requirements and stay in compliance with Federal and MS Safe Drinking Water Acts.
